Fun Activities and Attractions in Hershey
Hershey, Pennsylvania (home of our Deer Run Commons neighborhood) offers a year-round wide array of activities and attractions! Here’s an interactive map of a few of the standouts – don’t miss the descriptions below!
Hershey Park – This park consists of over 110 acres, including 60 rides and attraction and year round fun events. Highlights include the recently-built Stormrunner and Fahrenheit coasters. Admission also includes access to ZooAmerica, 11-acre walk-through zoo that displays living plants and animals from five regions of North America.
Hershey’s Chocolate World – Park of the Hersheypark Visitor Center, Hershey’s Chocolate World features a free “Great American Chocolate Tour” ride. The Tour shows visitors how Hershey’s Chocolate is made, with a little bit of help from singing dairy cows, talking Hershey-branded treats, lighted and blinking factory controls, and a photographically-inclined bull!
Hershey Bears Hockey – Hershey’s own American Hockey League Team plays in the Giant Center – and they play well! The Bears won their AHL record eleventh and most recent Calder Cup title over the Texas Stars in 2010.
Adventure Sports in Hershey – Looking for a fun afternoon outdoors in Hershey? From go-karts and mini-golf to outdoor laser tag and batting cages, Adventure Sports has you covered.
Gelder Park – Volleyball, tennis, basketball, creek trails and the ultimate sandbox all in the an afternoon at Gelder Park—just a short walk away from your front door at Deer Run Commons!
Visit some of Rudolph’s friends at the Live Reindeer Event at Stauffers of Kissel Hill Garden Center every holiday season!
Celebrate Halloween – Kick off the Fall season by getting your little ghosts and goblins all dressed up for the Annual Halloween Parade in Derry Township.
Hershey Gardens – Featuring “23 acres of botanical beauty”, Hershey Gardens features a breathtaking assortment of flowers and shrubs, a stately collection of rare, signature trees, and plenty of fun events (including the “Pumpkin Glow” this month!).
Antique Automobile Club of America Museum – The Museum’s collection includes over 150 vehicles (plus buses, motorcycles and more), spanning almost a century of American motoring from the 1895 Chicago Motor Benton Harbor to a 1977 Chrysler Cordoba with “fine Corinthian leather” seats.
Hershey Theatre – Celebrating 75 years of art and entertainment, the Hershey Theatre hosted shows like Mamma Mia, Beauty and the Beast and West Side Story this year.
Holiday Shopping – Get a jump on shopping for holiday gifts at the Hershey Winter Arts & Craft Show – taking place at Hershey High School this weekend!
