We've always known that our Deer Run Commons neighborhood has a very special address. Located in Derry Township, Deer Run Commons is in the heart of Hershey. And, Hershey has been in the news a lot the last couple of weeks.
We all know about Hersheypark and it being "the sweetest place on earth." But now you may call it one of the greenest. The Hershey Company was just ranked #6 on Newsweek's list of Top Greenest Companies.
According to the Newsweek article in LancasterOnline, Hershey has achieved "zero waste-to-landfill" status and has been recognized in it's continued goal to use cocoa from sustainable farms.
And now just days later, Penn State Hershey Children's Hospital was named Best in the Nation by U.S. News & World Report. It's in its fifth consecutive year being ranked among the best in a number of specialties.
How great is it to know that in your own backyard you have a company and a hospital that have been recognized nationally for doing good?
Deer Run Commons is a popular spot for those who want to enjoy the benefits of being close to all things Hershey. If you would like more information on all of the living options, learn more on our Deer Run Commons neighborhood page.
