Charter Homes & Neighborhoods Wins National Award
Award Considered Home Building Industry’s Highest Honor
November 15, 2010(Lancaster, PA) -- Charter Homes & Neighborhoods, based in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, won a 2011 National Housing Quality Award. The National Housing Quality Award represents the homebuilding industry's highest recognition for quality achievement and operational excellence. Charter Homes President Rob Bowman will accept the award in January at the International Builder’s Show in Orlando.
Evaluated alongside the nation’s biggest and best homebuilders, Charter’s team was recognized for excellence across every aspect of its business. Lead judge Serge Oganovich commented, “The continuing advancements that (Charter) has made in the areas of quality assurance and customer satisfaction will go a long way in assuring that Charter Homes achieves its future goals.”
“It’s a serious award for serious fun,” said Rob Bowman. “We’re serious about being a good builder and delivering a homebuilding experience that people enjoy. With this award, it’s proof that we are heading in that direction.”
The National Housing Quality Award was established in 1992 and is open to all United States Homebuilders. Charter Homes is only the second homebuilder in Central Pennsylvania to win the award. Charter Homes is also part of a very elite group of builders to ‘place’ the first time they applied.
About The Award
Winning the NHQ Award requires more than just operating a great home building company; it requires genuine effort. Not only do candidates have to implement sophisticated operating processes that improve performance, those processes must also be documented in an extensive application and verified through a site visit by National Housing Quality Award judges. Program participants benefit from the introspective process of preparing an application, as well as the insightful feedback received from the expert judging panel, many of whom are past National Housing Quality Award winners. Winners of the National Housing Quality Award are featured in a Professional Builder magazine article that highlights their quality management practices for the benefit of the housing industry.
