Preserving the Meeder Homestead

In the heart of Cranberry Township sits a beautiful piece of land rich with history. The Meeder Family Homestead has long been a landmark in the Cranberry community, and we are humbled to have the privilege of preserving the Homestead while also creating a new place for people to call home for years to come.

In honor of the family who lovingly cared for the land for generations, the newest Great American Neighborhood in Pittsburgh will be called Meeder. This once in a lifetime opportunity to enhance the center of an already thriving community is one that we take on with great responsibility. As we begin sitework in the coming months, we’ll be carefully preserving the Meeder family farmhouse and barn, along with many trees that have been on the farm for decades. During the preservation, we’ll uncover and share many of the stories that make the Meeder Farm so recognized and cherished by the Cranberry community.

When complete, Meeder will include streets, parks, and landmarks named in honor of the Meeder family, as we work to respect the history of what came before into what will come next.
