A neighborhood with character deserves a mark of its own.
From neighborhood entrance signs to T-shirts, coffee mugs, and keychains, the Arcona mark appears in places big and small. But it’s more than a graphic. At Charter, we call it a mark rather than a logo because we believe the places we create should leave a lasting impression. From the homes we build and the trees we preserve to the details that make each neighborhood one of a kind, our goal is to create something that will be part of the neighborhood for generations to come.
Finding the right creative partner to capture the character of an entire neighborhood in a small 2×3 graphic was no easy task. We found that partner at a small screen print shop in downtown Lancaster, where a talented graphic designer was looking for an opportunity to make his own mark.
Over several months, the designer worked to translate Charter’s vision for Arcona into a mark that reflects the neighborhood’s connection to nature, preserved spaces, and opportunities for discovery.
“With all of the open green space and preserved trees, I wanted the Arcona mark to have a feeling of discovery. The organic bold lines evoke thoughts of nature and escaping to the outdoors,” said the designer.
The result is a mark that reflects Arcona‘s connection to the land and adds to the character of a neighborhood designed to leave a lasting impression.
